Mr. Miller's U.S. History Classes recently completed a unit on the Dust Bowl, The Great Depression, & The New Deal. Their end-of-unit project allowed students to express their creativity with artwork, crafting, writing, and performances that detailed various aspects of the Great Depression. They even had an opportunity to research recipes from the time period and prepare unusual foods that Americans relied upon to get through the lean years- dishes such as vinegar pie, poor man's meal, and tomato -soup cake.

Westside High School had a great time hosting Brandon Baxter and Kelly Perry and the “Arkansas’s Morning Show w/Brandon and Kelly!” Students did a great job representing our school during interviews with the hosts. Great job Warriors for being yourselves this morning. They received many compliments for the EAB Radio Group staff! We even were able to welcome a couple former Warriors back to campus and show them around afterwards. It’s always a great day to be a Warrior!!! #warriornation

Any day I am able to get into our teachers’ classrooms is a good day at WHS. It is especially great when I get a serenade! This is one of Ms. Bratten’s Sr. High choir classes. They are getting ready for All-Region auditions at the end of next week. It’s great to witness their “the best” performance so far when I am in the room!
