It was a student vs. teacher game of human horse shoes in morning assembly at the middle school today. Congrats to the students who pulled out the win!
The Beginning Band Rental meeting with Shivelbine Music is scheduled for Tuesday, August 22 at 6:00PM. This meeting will take place in the middle school cafeteria and ALL parents with a new child in band need to attend this meeting.
Attention Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of 7th - 12th grade athletes: There will be a mandatory AAA parent meeting next Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center.

Westside Middle School got started with their full morning assembly this morning. Each morning they’ll do the moment of silence, pledge of allegiance, birthdays, etc. A huge shout out to Mrs. Butts’s media class for leading it so well!

Westside High School will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, September 6th from 8:30-2:30 in the library.
Our goal for this drive is 49 pints! Give hope, get a free tee!

Learning how to work together in cooperative groups in important. These 5th graders were working together to complete a STEM activity.
As our students are learning about having empathy, we noticed these students and staff helping others with their lockers! Way to go, Warriors!
One of WMS’s goals for the first three days of school was for our students to get to know each other better. One of the ways our 5th grade students got to know each other a little better was a rock, paper, scissors tournament!
WMS would like to thank My Happy Place Flea Market for donating school supplies for our students. They will be put to good use!!
Westside Middle School is working on two main components of Captruing Kids’ Hearts. We are engaging students by greeting them at the door and welcoming them to class. The other part we are working in is our social contracts. Social contracts are developed by students and staff on how we will treat each other throughout the year.

Beginning of school reminders:
-Please follow all traffic patterns. Failure to do so will only cause more delays than normal.
-Please make sure your student knows how they are getting home from school and can explain it to the school. If you are concerned about that, you can always send a note.
-School begins at 8:00 and the dismissal bell rings at 3:10.
-Remember, most things will take longer at the beginning of school. Please be patient.
-We encourage everyone to make sure they fill out the free and reduced lunch application. New guidelines state that a student who qualifies for reduced meal cost will now get free meals!
We can't wait to see everyone on Monday morning!
