Winter Wonderland Daddy/Daughter Dance, hosted by Westside Thespian Troupe 5659, will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. in the Westside Elementary Cafeteria. Flyers can be picked up from the school offices.

Warrior Events for February 21st - 26th!
The Westside School District conducted a campus wide lockdown drill today. The goal of the drill is to improve our ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries. These practice drills allow us to evaluate our emergency operation plans and improve our response skills. We are pleased with the outcome of today’s drill and feel reassured that our safety plans can be implemented effectively by our staff.

Showtimes: March 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Westside Fine Arts Center. Ticket prices are $3 for students and $5 for adults.

Warrior Basketball Update:
Friday, February 11, 2022 - Sr Girls & Boys will play at home vs Pocahontas with a game time of 6:00 p.m. for the girls and the boys to follow. Basketball Senior Night Festivities will also take place tonight at 5:45 p.m.
Saturday, February 12, 2022 - Sr Boys will play a home game against Southside at 3:00 p.m.

Friday, February 11, 2022 - NO SCHOOL due to Professional Development Makeup Day for Teachers. Students will return to school on Monday, February 14, 2022.
WHS Boys Bowling team will be competing in the state tournament today at Hijinx in Jonesboro. Good Luck Boys! 💗🎳

The WHS Baseball Team will be hosting a chili supper tonight, February 8th, from 5-7pm in the HS Cafeteria. Chili Supper tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Come out and support our Warriors with a bowl of chili and a basketball game against the Valley View Blazers. (Game admission is not included in supper ticket)
Westside Consolidated will be open for onsite instruction tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8, 2022. We still have some gravel roads that have icy spots on them, so you may receive a call from your bus driver to set up alternate pick up points, but otherwise, it will be business as usual!

National School Counseling Week 2022, “School Counseling: Better Together,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 7–11, 2022, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Westside Consolidated Schools wants to recognize Mrs. Amanda Etter, Mrs. Tammy Romines, Mrs. Kelly Rider, Mrs. Julie Tubbs, and Mrs. Carol Little for everything you do for our students and families. We are proud to have you as Warriors!!!
Due to many of our side roads and rural dirt roads still being covered with ice, coupled with the high chance of freezing temperatures again tonight, we will not be in school tomorrow. We will have an AMI day tomorrow, Monday, 2/7/22. Please check google classroom and class dojo for assignments for AMI day #5.

WHS Boys Basketball update: Due to official unavailability on Wednesday, the Sr Boys will play Southside on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 4pm.
Periodically, the Westside Consolidated School Health and Wellness Committee will be posting information and resources dealing with important health concerns for our students and their families.
Did you know that in recent years, the leading cause of death in Arkansas is heart disease? In 2017, the CDC reported that Arkansas ranked 3rd among all states in heart disease related death. According to The Arkansas Dept. of Health, Craighead County has a rate of 452 per 100,000 people. This is ranked in the second highest colored category in the state. Please see these tips from the CDC on decreasing your risk for heart disease.

WHS Boys Basketball games scheduled for tonight vs Pocahontas have been canceled and will be rescheduled for Friday, February 11, 2022 at home with a game time of 6pm. Senior Night for Girls/Boys Basketball will also be held during this game.
There will be no school for students on Friday, February, 11, 2022 for Teacher Professional Development makeup.
