The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Care Solace, an organization dedicated to improving access to mental health care, substance use treatment and social services. Through this collaboration, all Arkansas school districts will have access to Care Solace’s care coordination services.

Care Solace serves as a central hub to help school districts connect students with mental health, substance use, and social service providers. A multilingual Care Companion team is available 24/7/365 to identify resources that fit each student’s unique needs and insurance requirements, and to facilitate timely appointments. Services can be accessed confidentially using a self-service search tool or through a Warm Handoff referral made by school support staff. Registration and training information for school support staff statewide will be announced soon.

We are accepting interest forms for afterschool care and summer care for students entering Kindergarten through age 12. If you would like your child added to the waiting list — or would like to remain on the list — please complete the Google Form. After nine years of dedicated service to Westside Schools, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Myca Ferguson as her term on the School Board comes to a close.

At tonight’s school board meeting, Superintendent Chris George presented her with a plaque in recognition of her unwavering commitment to our schools, our students, and our entire community. He spoke about her steadfast support, thoughtful leadership, and the positive impact she has made over nearly a decade of service.
