Westside Athletes and Parents, September 17th is "National Concussion Day." New this school year (2021-2022) the Arkansas Dept of Education is now requiring all school districts to have "Return to Learn" policies/procedures for students that have suffered a concussion. The Return to Learn will be in front of the Return to Play protocol. When it pertains to a student athlete, the student can not begin their return to play if they are still on Return to Learn modifications. The Arkansas Dept of Education and the Concussion-Return to Learn Task Force have partnered with REAP to adopt a statewide concussion management program K-12 for all school districts in the state of Arkansas. More information will be coming out soon to all the stakeholders about REAP, the new policy, how to implement it, the requirements, etc... A direct link to the REAP document in PDF format: https://arbraininjury.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Arkansas-REAP-2021.pdf

The last bus just left campus. Students may be delayed in arriving home the first week as we are getting students accustomed to what bus they ride. This will get much faster very soon.

Parents, All K-12 students will be coming home with packets of information that will need to be filled out by the parents and then returned to the school. This will include basic contact information and such as well as campus specific forms. It is very important that we have these forms returned to the appropriate campus. The contact information that you provide will be what is put in our eSchool database. The primary cell phone number you put in will be where messages from the school will be sent. Please return these forms to the proper campus as soon as possible so we can update our information quickly.

Westside School District is now accepting two online services to better manage your student's school meal account. EZMealApp gives parents the online opportunity to fill out a free and reduced meal application online! This online application will enable parents to complete and submit the application faster, while allowing Food and Nutrition Services to approve the application in a timely manner. The EZMealApp can be accessed from any computer with internet capabilities at EZMealApp. You only need to complete one application per household. The online application is the same as the paper application that Westside School District provides. We bring this technology to our families to ensure that students receive meal benefits as quickly as possible. The online applications are secure and the application is confidential. The paper application is available at www.westsideschool.org or your school office. https://secure.ezmealapp.com/ApplicationScreen.aspx All students will be receiving free meals again this year. That being said, it is vitally important that parents fill out the free and reduced application online or by paper. The information that is collected is directly tied to school funding for our students. Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this application.
