The Arkansas School Board Association (ASBA) announced that January is School Board Recognition Month in Arkansas.
As publicly elected school leaders, Arkansas school board members set policy for their respective districts. Under state law, they are empowered to hire and evaluate the superintendent, oversee district finances, approve the budget, and determine the vision and mission of the district. School boards must also approve the curriculum and ensure the district maintains adequate facilities for teaching and learning.
In addition to their board duties, state law requires Arkansas school board members to earn a minimum of six hours of professional development each year in areas related to their role and responsibilities.

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be NO SCHOOL for students on Monday, January 16, 2023.
School Choice is an option for anyone who lives outside of Westside Consolidated School District and would like their child to attend Westside Schools for the 2023-2024 school year. There will be an atheltic booster club meeting on Wednesday, December 14th at 6pm in the high school cafeteria. All parents and guardians of student athletes in grades 7-12 are encouraged to attend.
Westside is hosting a blood drive on January 18th in the high school library from 8:30 to 2:30. Blood donations help save lives as well as earn scholarships for our students. Westside Consolidated School District will be closed December 19, 2022 through January 2, 2023. Teachers will return on January 2, 2023 for required professional development and students will return on January 3, 2023.

Information concerning semester test week at WHS
Students and parents,
During semester tests only, students may bring a note from a parent to check out with. This is unlike the normal check-out policy. This would apply to those students who normally drive to and from school everyday. Students must stay until all tests are completed (cannot check out and then come back). Students will also only be allowed to check out after each period. Students will not be allowed to just leave once they complete a test.
For any other student, normal check out procedures will apply. Your parent, guardian, or anyone on your check out list may come check you out if you do not have any tests remaining to take during the school day. You will also only be allowed to check out after each period. Students will not be allowed to just leave once they complete a test. We will not call into a room for a student and interrupt other test takers.
Semester Test Schedule
Monday, Dec. 12: All classes will meet for last chance reviews (Manic Monday)
Tuesday, Dec. 13: B day classes and 4th block
Wednesday, Dec. 14: A day classes and 5th block
Thursday, Dec. 15: Make-up tests for all classes
Friday, Dec. 16: Make-up tests approved only by Mr. George for extenuating circumstances.

Warrior Community, as a month long service learning project, 4th grade students will be collecting items to help local animals in need. We will have a station set up at Christmas the Warrior Way and accept donations as you drive through! We would love your support! Please see flyer below on how you can help!
