ARDOT will have be hosting a public meeting on Thursday, May 8 from 4:30-6:30 pm in the Westside High library. This will be to give information on the proposed project to increase the capacity for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic on Highway 91 by widening from two to three lanes. The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) will host a Public Involvement Meeting to discuss the upcoming Highway 91 project impacting our area.

Update on Highway 91 Closure:
The Department of Transportation has informed us that work is still underway to remove the overturned equipment. Highway 91 is expected to reopen around 2:30 p.m. to allow for normal school traffic. However, if the removal is not complete, the road may be closed again. Please drive with caution through the area, as workers and equipment will still be present.

Highway 91 west of I-555 will be closed shortly after 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning so that crews can remove a large crane that overturned near the city limits. Once closed, the highway will remain closed until the work is complete. The exact duration is unknown at this time.
For those traveling to the school, alternate routes include Highway 118 near the Subway shop at Bono Hill and Highway 349. Please plan accordingly and use these routes until further notice.

🎉 Congratulations to the Westside School Board! 🎉
We are proud to announce that the Westside Consolidated School District Board of Education has been awarded the Master Board Award by the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA)!
This honor is given to school boards whose members have each earned 50 or more hours of Board Development Training, reflecting their commitment to leadership, learning, and student success.
A special congratulations to Board Member Sam Hiser, who was also individually recognized for reaching the 50-hour milestone in Board Development Training!
The board was formally recognized during last night’s regular school board meeting. We are incredibly grateful for their continued dedication and service to the students, staff, and families of Westside.

Last night, Westside Schools proudly hosted a Purple Star Reception to recognize and celebrate the incredible military-connected students and families within our district.
We extend a special thank you to First Community Bank for sponsoring this meaningful event and helping us honor those who serve our country both in and out of uniform.

Yesterday, Westside students and staff proudly wore purple to celebrate our district’s official recognition as a Purple Star School District—a distinction that reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.





The middle school shelter is open as well.
