The Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) along with Governor Sarah Sanders announced that January is School Board Member Recognition Month in Arkansas. School board members play an essential role in their community.
As publicly elected school leaders, Arkansas school board members set policy for their respective districts. Under state law, they are empowered to hire and evaluate the superintendent, oversee district finances, approve the budget, and determine the vision and mission of the district. School boards must also approve the curriculum and ensure the district maintains adequate facilities for teaching and learning.
These dedicated individuals are committed to the well-being and success of every child, recognizing that quality education is tailored to the individual needs of each student.

The boys basketball game at Blytheville for Friday night has been cancelled. The make up date for this game will be Monday, January 29. 7th grade will start at 4:00 pm with Jr and Sr boys to follow.

The previously rescheduled Girls basketball game with Highland for Wednesday night has been canceled. It will be rescheduled again for Saturday, Jan.19 with Jr high starting at 5:00 pm.
The boys basketball game for tonight has been cancelled. Once a rescheduled date for the game is set, that information will be posted.
Due to inclement weather, Westside Consolidated will be closed on Tuesday, 1/16/24. As the Department of Education no longer recognizes AMI days as a way for schools to continue education during days when inclement weather prevents traditional in person learning, a make up day will be announced in the near future. The district will continue to monitor conditions and assess on Tuesday about the status for school on Wednesday. Stay warm and safe. Enjoy the old school snow day!

FCA is hosting a Terri Tyner Memorial Blood Drive in the high school library on January 17th from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Please consider donating if you are eligible. One unit of donated blood can save up to three lives. Donors must be seventeen years old or sixteen with a signed parent permission form. Blank forms are available in the library.
